Out of 100s of Indian stars, only three players from the current Indian team got the invitation for the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha in Ayodhya as per reports. They were Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. Along with them, former cricketers like MS Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar and Venkatesh Prasad were also invited.
With these six cricket personalities invited, only three managed to make it to the program in Ayodhya. Tendulkar, Prasad and Jadeja were present but the remaining three couldn’t make it to the event.
Kohli had arrived in Ayodhya, but left immediately due to personal reasons, which many don’t know. He has also pulled out of the first two Tests for those personal reasons as well. Rohit Sharma decided to stay back with the team, with the Test series against England starting on January 25th.
Meanwhile Dhoni was spotted playing Tennis a day before the Pran Pratishtha ceremony. According to reports, he did not attend the program in Ayodhya, but his wife Sakshi Dhoni uploaded a picture of the Ram idol in the temple.
Virat Kohli doppelganger swarmed by fans in Ayodhya
While Virat Kohli couldn’t attend the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, a lookalike ensured he was present in his place. The doppelganger wore an India kit and walked into the city. He was swarmed by fans, with people trying to take selfies with him.
Kohli’s withdrawal from the series was announced on January 22nd, with the BCCI requesting privacy for him and his family. He will be missing the first two Tests, which will be played in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. In his place, Rajat Patidar has been called up. Patidar recently scored two centuries for India A against England Lions.
