Fans must have thought that MS Dhoni gets his luck after eating the bat before the match. MS Dhoni likes to do things his own way and this ‘weird’ habit, as fans might call it, of ‘eating’ the bat is a ‘superstitious’ way for the 40-year-old to score personal runs for winning matches.

But everything that MS Dhoni does has always a reason behind it and his tasting the bat before his batting is explained by former Indian spinner Amit Mishra.

Amit Mishra didn’t get any buyers in this season but he takes part in the cash-rich league with his tweets every now and then. He has tweeted about important happenings throughout the season. And so, when MS Dhoni’s eating picture caught eyes of the fans, Amit Mishra wasted no time in explaining the fine reason behind this.

“In case you’re wondering why Dhoni often ‘eats’ his bat. He does that to remove tape of the bat as he likes his bat to be clean. You won’t see a single piece of tape or thread coming out of MS’s bat,” tweeted Amit Mishra.

Meaning that MS Dhoni likes to keep his bat clean so that no threads or tape come out of the edges of the bat.

MS Dhoni did his cameo part of playing a knock of 21 off 8 balls to help CSK finish with a huge margin of 208.6 in 20 overs. CSK had started with the 110-run partnership between the opening batsmen Ruturaj Gaikwad (41) and Devon Conway (87). This was enough for the middle-order batsman to take it to a big score.

Shivam Dube scored 32 and then entered MS Dhoni. Without wasting any time- because he usually takes time-he started hitting sixes and fours.
