Back in 2020, when the entire world was dealing with COVID-19, there were reports of MS Dhoni donating Rs 1 lakh to a charity for the fight against the deadly virus. Social media were filled with rumors, so the media houses decided to do stories about the same.

Those rumors said Dhoni donated Rs 1 lakh through a crowd-funding website, Ketto, to the Mukul Madhav Foundation, located in Pune. Though fans praised Dhoni for his contribution, he received flak for donating only Rs 1 lakh despite being one of the richest cricketers in India.

Reacting to the false reports, Dhoni’s wife, Sakshi Dhoni, slammed media houses for not carrying out responsible journalism and spreading false news. She wrote:

I request all media houses to stop carrying out false news at sensitive times like these ! Shame on You ! I wonder where responsible journalism has disappeared !

Sakshi Dhoni also came up with a strong response to MS Dhoni’s retirement rumors.

MS Dhoni retired from international cricket on August 15, 2020. But in May that year, #DhoniRetires started trending on X (formerly) Twitter and it made Sakshi Dhoni angry.

Sakshi did not mince her words as she wrote lockdown has made people mentally unstable. But she deleted the tweet after it went viral.
