It was Tim David who stole the limelight after his excellent quick-fire to help Mumbai Indians beat Delhi Capitals by 5 wickets on Saturday, May 21 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Mumbai had won the toss and opted to bowl first. With Rishabh Pant and Rovman Powell‘s 39 and 43 runs, DC had set a target of 159 by losing 7 wickets.

Mumbai Indians replied with opener Ishan Kishan scoring 48 runs off 35 balls. He also smashed 3 fours and 4 sixes before Kuldeep Yadav dismissed him.

This season is Tim David’s first time with the Mumbai Indians. The franchise brought him for INR 8.25 crore after an intense battle from other bidders. The powerful Singaporean-born Australian batter was but dropped from the playing eleven. But in recent matches, his bat spoke really very well.

He has scored 186 runs in 8 matches with an average of 37.20 and a strike rate of 216.28 with 46 being the highest score.
His last five IPL innings will show how impressive this batsman is,
34(11), 46 (18), 16 (7), 13 (9), and 44 (21), these are the records of the power hitter.

In this match, Tim David would have walked back to the dressing room for a duck had DC skipper a Rishabh Pant taken the DRS. Till 19th over, he played and scored 34 runs off just 11 balls with 2 fours abs four massive sixes.
