Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma, though he is struggling right now with the bat, is one of the most destructive batsmen in white-ball cricket. He has scripted several batting records and added another one when he became the fourth batsman to reach 6000 runs in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
He reached the milestone during Mumbai’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Tuesday (April 18) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The 36-year-old smashed a four off Washington Sundar’s delivery complete 14 runs and simultaneously crossed the 6000-run milestone.
Before him, two Indians and an Australian reached the mark. Former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli leads the chart with 6844 runs from 228 matches, followed by Punjab Kings skipper Shikhar Dhawan‘s 6477 runs in 210 matches. Third on the list is Delhi Capitals skipper David Warner with 6109 runs in 167 matches.

At the time of writing this article, Mumbai have reached 178 in 19 overs. Cameron Green is playing on 60 off 38 balls and is expected to add a few more runs to give a competitive target to the Orange Army.
