At once, he was even dropped by a Nepali fielder and later, he started feasting on the bowlers. Babar even completed his 150 and got out only in the last over after he sent the delivery of Sompal Kami toward mid-off and later substitute fielder Sandeep Jura grabbed the catch. Babar walked back to the dugout after scoring 151 runs from 131 balls with 14 boundaries and four sixes.

Though Pakistan fans went berserk after watching Babar Azam reach his 19th ODI century, the Indian fans left unimpressed. They mocked the Pakistan skipper for slamming the ton against Nepal. Pakistan won the toss and opted to bat first. After the failures of the openers, where Fakhar Zaman (14 off 20) and Imam-ul-Haq (five off 14) fell for mere runs, Babar and Mohammad Rizwan started commanding the team to a decent position. Rizwan scored 44 runs from 50 balls.

After Rizwan, Iftikhar Ahmed batted alongside Babar and hammered his century as well. He took 79 balls to score a brilliant 109 runs with 11 fours and four sixes at a strike rate of 153.52. Pakistan reached a huge 342/6 in 50 overs
