Ever since the Premier League started broadcasting in India during the early 2000s, football has started growing between fans. Many Indians were introduced to European football and since then fans have started supporting teams like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Manchester United, and many more. Many players often prefer stars like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but Gautam Gambhir has revealed both aren’t his favorites. 

In an interview with SportsKeeda, he was playing the game of ‘this or that’, where he was presented with two options and he had to pick one. When the game made him choose between Ronaldo and Messi, Gambhir said he would rather pick Marcus Rashford ahead of the duo.

Marcus Rashford currently plays for Manchester United and has been there since his debut. In 379 appearances, he has scored 125 goals and assisted 72 times. In the previous season he was regarded as one of the best players in the league, but currently he struggles to start for the club.

When the video of Gambhir selecting Marcus Rashford went viral, it wasn’t received well. Many mocked him for selecting Rashford over the two greatest players in the world. Many said he should be disallowed from making football opinions while some defended him, saying he was sarcastic.
