The 2023 ODI World Cup Qualifiers are underway and Oman have pulled off a massive victory, defeating Ireland by five wickets on Monday. As the two teams from Group B locked horns against each other at the Bulawayo Athletic Club, Oman stunned Andrew Balbirnie’s Ireland to earn two crucial points.

The Zeeshan Maqsood-led team pulled off an incredible chase and beat Ireland by five wickets and eleven balls to spare. Kashyap Prajapati (72), Aqib Ilyas (52), and captain Masood (59) scored half-centuries to belittle the target set by Ireland.

Despite Mark Adair drawing the first blood (Jatinder Singh) in the fourth over of the Oman innings, the team comfortably chased down a tricky total. While Prajapati and Ilyas provided a solid foundation, stitching a 94-run partnership, captain Maqsood carried forward the momentum.

After the Oman skipper was dismissed, Mohammad Nadeem (46*) with Ayaan Khan (21) and Shoaib Khan (19*) finished the game.
