In a major blow to Kolkata Knight Riders, their fast bowler, Pat Cummins has had to leave IPL early due to a hip injury. Cummins had a start-stop season for KKR but was always a huge asset for them with the ball and bat. Cummins introduced himself to this year’s IPL with a 14 ball fifty, the joint-fastest in IPL history.

Cummins wasn’t the most effective for KKR this season with the ball. Hence, the Aussie was one of many who were dropped out, in an ever-changing KKR starting XI. However, Cummins was called back in KKR’s win against Mumbai and did well with the ball to get 3 important wickets. However, just when the 29-year-old found his form, Cummins has been ruled out of IPL due to a hip injury.

Pat Cummins was a vital cog in KKR’s road to IPL finals last season where they lost to Chennai Super Kings. However, while they have had a disappointing season this time around, they will surely miss Pat Cummins in their last 2 do-or-die games. KKR hang by the thread as they still compete to finish in the top 4 of the IPL table.
