Punjab Kings’ Jonny Bairstow scored his fastest and the second fastest fifty in IPL 2022 on Friday, May 13 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In the match, RCB had won the toss and opted to bowl first. Punjab Kings’ openers Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan walked out to bat and they had stayed for a 60-run partnership. The English player smashed 4 fours and 7 sixes to score 66 runs in 29 balls; scored his fifty in just 21 balls, with strike rate of 227.59. He has smashed seven sixes in the powerplay.

But in the tenth over, Shahbaz Ahmed bowled a full and around off. Jonny Bairstow advanced down the track for a big hit but only managed to cut it from the outer edge to backward point. Two fielders started to catch it when Mohammed Siraj then took it finally.

Meanwhile at the time when this article is written, Punjab has scored 163 runs by losing 4 wickers in 16 overs with Liam Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma playing for 43 off 30 and 1 off 2 respectively.
