Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja has once again opened up on the BCCI‘s decision not to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. He insisted that their Pakistani team will not travel to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup if the Men in Blue doesn’t come for the continental cup.

“Our position is blunt that if they (Indian team) come then we will go to the World Cup, if they don’t come then let them do it. Let them play without Pakistan. If Pakistan does not participate in the World Cup scheduled in India next year, who will see it? We will adopt an aggressive approach, our team is showing performance, we have defeated the biggest business-making cricket team in the world, we have played the final of the T20 World Cup,” Ramiz Raja was quoted as saying by Urdu News.

Notably, the 2023 Asia Cup will be held before the World Cup, which will be played on Indian soil. Pakistan hosted a multi-nation event back in 2009 (Asia Cup). However, after a terror attack on the Sri Lankan team the same year, the ICC banned the nation from hosting international matches.

Ramiz Raja didn’t stop there as he went on to point out how the Men in Green beat Team India twice in the past two years. India lost to Pakistan in the 2021 T20 World Cup and then in the 2022 Asia Cup. He also stated that the performance of the team is important to improve the financial condition of the board.

“I have always said that we have to improve the economy of Pakistan cricket and that will only happen when our team performs well, we have done it in the 2021 T20 World Cup. Beat India, we beat India in the Asia Cup, Pakistan cricket team has beaten the board of billion dollar economy twice in one year,” he added.
