It was miserable condition for the Lucknow Supergiants indeed after they got bundled out for just 62 runs, after Gujarat Titans’ Rashid Khan completed his four-wicket haul, and failing to chase a modest target of 144 on Tuesday, May 10 at the MCA Stadium in Pune.

Only Deepak Hooda could score a slow 27 off 26 with 3 fours. Quinton de Kock scored 11 off 10 balls with a six and Avesh Khan could score 12 runs in 4 balls with 2 sixes. All the batsmen out there couldn’t even reach the double-digit mark.

The bowler friendly slow pitch must be the main factor which let Gujarat spinner Rashid Khan bag four wickets by conceding 24 runs. He also registered his 450th wicket in T20 cricket. Mohammad Shami only gave five runs with a wicket in his three overs. Yash Dayal picked 2 wickets in two overs and conceded 24 runs. Debutant Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore gave seven runs in his two overs and bagged two wickets.

When batters faltered, Gujarat batter Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 63 runs from 49 balls by smashing seven fours. Also, Shubman Gill won the man of the match for his brilliant fifty, he was the only player to score more than 30 runs in this match. And he was supported by Rahul Tewatia who had smashed three fours and scored 22 runs in 16 balls.

Hardik Pandya said at the post-match presentation, “I wanted to make sure that we win as a team, and we lose as a team. Just like how the credit goes when we win that ‘we won’ it should be ‘we lost’. Not like this guy messed up and lost”.
