The Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday announced the introduction of a covert Hall of Fame for all the former RCB players that have had an impact on the team. The Franchise also announced that the first two inductees to the Hall of Fame would be none other than AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle.

The team management had organised an entire event with both Chris Gayle and ABD on video chat on Monday evening as they announced the Hall of Fame. RCB also explained the criteria to be inducted in the hall of fame. 1) Player should have played for the franchise for a minimum of 3 years. 2) Not a part of the IPL currently. 3) Should have had a significant impact on brand RCB on and off the field.

AB de Villiers, the first inductee to RCB’s Hall of Fame joined the team back in 2011 from Delhi Daredevils (Delhi Capitals). Over the years, he become one of IPL’s most popular cricketer with his entertaining knocks. ABD was also nicknamed Mr. 360 for his ability to hit all over the park. AB de Villiers scored 5162 runs in 184 games in the IPL at a strike rate of 151.68. He is also one of the highest run getters in IPL history.

The second inductee to RCB’s Hall of Fame was none other than the Universe Boss, Chris Gayle. Considered the best ever T20 batsman in history, there were no surprises that he was the second player to be inducted in Bangalore’s hall of fame. Chris Gayle, like ABD was one of the most entertaining cricketers to have played in the IPL. Chris Gayle holds numerous records of the IPL as well including most sixes (357), most centuries (6), highest score (175) and more. Gayle also won the Orange cap twice in his time at RCB.
