In what was a careless mistake, New Zealand’s Finn Allen was involved in a bizarre run-out during San Francisco Unicorns vs Seattle Orcas match in Major League Cricket.

After playing a defensive shot in the fourth over of the chase, Finn Allen casually strolled out of his crease to take a single and was caught off guard by Shehan Jayasuriya who was quick to think on his feet and run the batter out.

Allen also dropped his bat in the process of walking his single. Fielders of the opposition laughed at the dismissal while Finn Allen was left perplexed. Alan Wilkins on air labeled the incident as “Just comedy,” and disapproved of the Kiwi batter’s laid-back approach at that moment of the game. Take a look at the dismissal.

After Finn Allen’s bizarre dismissal, the Unicorns lost the match by 85 runs to the Orcas. Allen was dismissed for 28 off 10 deliveries, despite his cameo, the team could not power through to the score.

The Seattle Orcas are currently leading the points table with 2 wins in a row and a very healthy run rate of more than 1. KKR‘s Los Angeles Knight Riders linger at the bottom of the table with two consecutive losses while CSK’s Texas Super Kings are at number 3 on the table with one win in two matches.
