Alyssa Healy
Nothing could stop Alyssa Healy. The bowlers of Royal Challengers Bangalore couldn’t trouble the UP Warriorz openers let alone harm them. They failed to defend their 139-run target against Healy-led UP Warriorz on Friday (March 10) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. This is RCB’s fourth consecutive defeat in this inaugural Women’s Premier League.
The Warriorz were off to a flier with openers Devika Vaidya and Healy going all guns blazing. While Vaidya (36* off 31) was playing the supporting role, it was the dangerous Healy who feasted on the RCB bowlers.
Soon she reached her maiden half-century off just 28 balls and went on to race toward her maiden century. If RCB contributed a few more runs in their total, Healy would have scripted history by becoming the first player to smash a century. She just fell short of four runs and remained not out on 96 off 47 balls, which was laced with 18 boundaries and a maximum and she batted at a monstrous strike rate of 204.24. Soon they chased away the target in 14 overs.

RCB are yet to win a game in this inaugural Women’s Premier League. RCB is one of those teams who face the mockery of the fans when they fail to win matches. Again fans got another opportunity to troll the team despite having world-class names in the squad.
Earlier, after opting to bat first, RCB’s Ellyse Perry smacked her maiden half-century, with Sophie Devine scoring 36. Sophie Ecclestone conceded 13 runs while completing her four-fer, plus Deepti Sharma bagged three scalps to bundle out Smriti Mandhana and co. for 138.
RCB came close to victory against Gujarat Titans in their previous game after losing their previous matches by huge margins. Another defeat might end RCB’s chances to qualify for the knockout stage.
