Shubman Gill also became the first player to score more than 1000 runs for the franchise.
Shubman Gill’s consistent run in the sixteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is a thing to talk about. The Gujarat Titans (GT) batter has been scoring runs for this season. Shubman Gill scored his maiden IPL century on Monday as his team hosted Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium. The swashbuckling batter took the SRH bowlers to the cleaners from the ball go.
Gill eventually scored his half-century off just 22 balls. The batter looked in immaculate touch as Gill scored boundaries with sheer ease. He never looked troubled on a deck that looked decent for batting. The GT opener then capitalized on this fiery start and went on to score his maiden hundred in IPL. Gill hit Fazalhaq Farroqi for four consecutive boundaries to kick off his innings in style.
With the young batter yet again dominating the bowlers, fans went berserk on Twitter. Many were left in awe of Gill’s consistency as well as his neat strokeplay. A few also pointed out the batter’s domination at the venue. Notably, Gill has scored runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium every time he has played here.
