Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been an integral part of one of Indian Premier League’s most successful team, Chennai Super Kings. Since 2012, when he joined the Yellow franchise, he has been an integral part of the team and contributed impressively both with the bat and ball and exceptionally while fielding.

But the 2022 season was the worst one for not only CSK but for Jadeja too. MS Dhoni relinquished captaincy just two days prior to the opening match of IPL and Jadeja was made the new captain. Jadeja, however, didn’t have a fruitful stint as captain and lost consecutive matches. The burden of captaincy affected his game also as he failed in every department.

The second half of the season saw MS Dhoni again taking up the position. The 33-year-old Jadeja missed the last few matches because he was ruled out of the tournement due to a rib injury. Fans were suspicious of a possible rift must be going on between Jadeja and CSK. In 2022 season, he scored 116 runs in 10 matches and scalped only 16 wickets.

“Ravindra Jadeja’s innings with Chennai Super Kings could be coming to an end unless something miraculous happens in the next couple of months. It is understood that the Indian all-rounder has been completely “out of touch” with the CSK management since the time the IPL got over in May,” according to a report in TOI.

The report then added that Jadeja didn’t even inform the CSK management about state of his injury.

“CSK is known to function ‘like a family’ and players stay in touch with the franchise through the year. But Jadeja, who underwent a rehab at NCA, before coming back to the Indian team, has kept the Chennai franchise completely in the dark and has not been part of any activity of CSK.”

When every CSK player wished captain MS Dhoni on his birthday on July 7 via a video post by the franchise, there was no Jadeja wishing Dhoni. He previously used to wish the former India captain on his birthday.

Jadeja though, after recovering from the injury, is in quite a good form. He even scored a ton in the rescheduled Test in Birmingham against England.
