Robin Uthappa reveals unheard food habits of MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni and Robin Uthappa are good friends since their playing days. Both have been part of the team that lifted the maiden T20 World Cup back in 2007. Uthappa also represented the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) under Dhoni and revealed some interesting details about ‘Captain Cool’ during his stint with the Yellow franchise.
Uthappa disclosed that Dhoni is quite concerned about what he eats because of fitness reasons. Dhoni, who is ‘perenially hungry for butter chicken masala’ used to skip the chicken and ate only the gravy part.
“We used to always eat together. We had a group: Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh, Piyush Chawla, Munaf (Patel), MS, and me. We would order dal makhni, butter chicken, jeera aloo, and gobi and rotis,” said Uthappa in an episode of ‘My Time With Heroes’ on JioCinema.
“But MS is a very rigid person when it comes to eating. He would eat butter chicken but without the chicken, only with the gravy! When he ate chicken, he wouldn’t eat the rotis. He is quite weird when it comes to eating,” Uthappa added.

CSK will open their campaign against Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Giants in the curtain raiser of the showpiece event on March 31 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The four-time champions had a horrible season last year with just four wins in 14 matches. Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja became the captain for the first half but as the team didn’t find success, he relinquished the role and Dhoni took up the job again. This season can be his last one.
