Captain Rohit Sharma was full of animation in the close tie contest between India and Bangladesh at the T20 World Cup 2022 on Wednesday (November 02). He was even caught giving a vocal warning to Bangladesh wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan, who was standing at the non-striker’s end.

The Indian skipper observed Nurul getting out of his crease before the release of the ball to gain an unfair advantage. Following which, Rohit issued a warning which was caught on the stump mic. He said: “Bahar nikla toh stump uda dega”, to alert Nurul.

Speaking of the game, Team India sealed a 5-run win against Bangladesh from a difficult situation. After setting a massive target of 185 for the Tigers, Indian bowlers didn’t get the start as expected. They were blown away by opener Liton Das, who was in beast form.

He smashed his fifty in just 21 balls before the rain intervened to pause the game. The loss of time was adjusted with the game being reduced to 16 overs and a new target of 151 was declared as per the DLS method. The pause turned out to be in favor of Team India as the momentum shifted after the break.

Liton, who was taking the game away with him, was ran out by a sensational direct hit from KL Rahul. Following that wicket, no Bangladesh batter could get hold of the match. They went on to fall like cards, which made the task even more difficult. Nurual Hasan tried his best to hand an upset to India but his efforts weren’t enough.

Captain Rohit Sharma expressed his happiness over Virat Kohli’s incredible run at the marquee event. He said that the management always believed in him and it was a matter of a couple of innings which Kohli got in the 2022 Asia Cup. Notably, Kohli was adjudged the player of the match for his 44-ball 64.

“In my opinion he was always there, it was a matter of few innings here and there, he got it in the Asia Cup. We never had any doubts and the way he has been batting in this World Cup has been tremendous and he is really doing it for us [on Kohli],” Rohit said post-match at the post-match presentation.

The 35-year-old also liked the way KL Rahul batted and regained his form. He stated that he is someone who can win matches on his own if he is in rhyme. “Also liked the way how KL played today. We know what sort of a player he is, if he bats the way he can, he puts the team in a different position,” he added.
