In a new reel on ICC’s instagram page, Indian captain Rohit Sharma played a game of This or That. In the game he was made to choose between pacers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mitchell Starc, if he prefers playing the pull shot or cover drive and whether he prefers playing spinners or pacers.
But the funniest part of the reel was when he was asked who he would like to sit next to in the bus ride to the game. The options were keeper-batsman Ishan Kishan or leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. In a hilarious reply, Rohit replied, “None, because before I go to the game, I want calm, I want peace and none of these guys bring any of those, so none“. Ishan Kishan and Yuzvendra Chahal are known as the funny guys in the team, with the two of them usually being constant in post match videos made by the team.
In the reel, Rohit Sharma talked about how he prefers both Indian World Cup wins. He also couldn’t choose between Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mitchell Starc, saying “both are quality, quite threatening with the new ball, can swing the ball, quite fast, so I say none.”
Rohit Sharma talks about fans
The Indian captain was featured in another reel uploaded by the ICC, in which he talked about the Indian support. “I know for a fact that every ground, every venue, that we will be traveling, we are going to get massive support. It’s World Cup so obviously everyone is looking forward to this World Cup coming back to India after 12 years. 2011 was the last time we played 50 over World Cup so people are quite excited. I can see the buzz already.”
Rohit Sharma will be playing his 3rd ODI World Cup and is captaining for the first time. India will first travel to Sri Lanka to compete in the Asia games. India will play a three match ODI Series before the World Cup begins for preparation of the mega event.
