Gaikwad’s abilities as a captain were further strengthened by the fact that he presently captains the Maharashtra T20 and List-A teams and led them to the Vijay Hazare Trophy final last year.

India and Ireland are presently squaring off in the first T20 International in Dublin. Team India’s outstanding performance with the ball constrained the home team to just 139 runs.

In response, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad have given the team a solid start. However, as they landed in confusion, it could have been the end for either of them. During the second ball of the second over delivered by Joshua Little, the pacer bowled a short ball that rebounded off Yashasvi Jaiswal’s thighpad and went towards short fine.

Ruturaj Gaikwad requested a run but was uncertain about it. This resulted in both batters witnessing the same end of the field. Fortunately, the throw missed, and the right-hander ran toward the batter’s end, saving his life.
