Rishabh Pant-led India is locking-horns with Temba Bavuma-led South Africa on Tuesday, June 12 at the ACA-VDCA Stadium in Vishakhapatnam. The pair of Indian openers, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan helped India reach a challenging total in a must-win clash.

Gaikwas played a knock of 57 off 35 balls with seven boundaries and two sixes with an impressive strike rate of 162.86. While at the other end, Ishan Kishan scored 54 runs off 35 balls with five boundaries and two sixes at a strike rate of 154.29. Ishan Kishan’s knocks in the T20 series against South Africa are 76(48), 34(21) & 54(35).

The opnening pair put a 97-run partnership before Gaikwad walked out of the field after his dismissal. It was Gaikwad’s maiden fifty in T20I. Whilehe was playing, one of Anrich Nortje’s bouncer almost knocked off Gaikwad’s helmet. Gaikwad also managed to smash five boundaries in Nortje’s first over of the innings.

In the 10th over, Keshav Maharaj bowled a full toss and Ruturaj Gaikwad attempted to play at long on but plays off the bat and it lobbed to Maharaj. Maharaj then dived forward and caught it. While Ishan Kishan got dismissed in the 14th over from a ball of Dwaine Pretorius. Pretorius bowled a full ball and Kishan lost his balance as he tried to go over deep extra covers but failed to power it and Reeza Hendricks there grabbed it with ease.

The next two batters, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant could score only 14 and eight respectively. But Hardik Pandya finished the innings by scoring 31 runs off 21 balls including four boundaries.

Dwaine Pretorius grabbed two wickets while Kagiso Rabada, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Keshav Maharaj scalped one wicket each.
