The 2023 ODI World Cup is currently underway and almost all the stadiums in India have undergone extensive renovation, including New Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium. What caught the attention of the fans in the Delhi stadium were the missing hoardings.

Arun Jaitley Stadium has become synonymous with cluttered hoardings. Before the World Cup, there were banners of tobacco and incense sticks, and ads of other companies. So much so, that the stands named after former cricketers, like Gautam Gambhir, were a bit hard to find amid the ‘Pan Bahar’ ads.

But for the World Cup, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) beautified the stadium with colors by removing the banners. Indian fans expressed their satisfaction with the work and took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their views.
