Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed two back-to-back centuries but in spite of that, captain Rohit Sharma refrained from speaking too much on the youngster. In the second Test in Visakhapatnam, Jaiswal notched up 290-ball 209 runs and remained unbeaten in the Rajkot Test by scoring a 236-ball 216* runs.

Ahead of the fourth Test at the JSCA International Stadium in Ranchi, Shubman Gill denied the speculation about a conscious decision from the management to talk less about Jaiswal. Gill praised Jaiswal for his achievement of scoring two double centuries in successive Test matches, calling him a sensational player.

I don't think there's a problem with the youngsters being not humble. We have seen Jaiswal scoring back-to-back double-hundreds. If you don't have it in you, you won't be able to score back-to-back double tons. There aren't many people in the world who have scored back-to-back double-hundreds in Test cricket.
Gill said at the pre-match press conference

Gill added that Sharma stopped himself from praising too much at that time, suggesting that the captain may talk more about him after the series.

So he definitely is a sensational player. We have seen it. I think he's played around eight or nine Tests. We have seen it in him. I don't think there's any conscious decision. Maybe Rohit bhai didn't want to talk about it at that point in time.

Shubman Gill says the entire India misses MS Dhoni

India and England are playing the fourth Test in Ranchi, which is also the home ground of the legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni. He is India’s most successful captain because of the three ICC trophies India won under his captaincy. Also, he led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to five victories in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

At the press conference, Gill also talked about Dhoni. He simply said that the entire India misses Captain Cool for his immense contribution to the Indian cricket.

Gill is not enjoying a great series against England because he has not piled on a lot of runs. From the three Tests, he has so far scored 252 runs, including two ducks.
