Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star of the third Test against England. At the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot, Jaiswal converted his century to his second double ton.

On Day 4 of the match, Jaiswal was batting at 199* and was seen desperate to reach his 200. But his batting partner and debutant Sarfaraz Khan calmed his nerves. “Itna mehnat kiya hu. (I have worked so hard,” said Jaiswal. And Sarfaraz’s response was, “Aage bhagna matt, ho jayega Yashu. (Don’t run, you’ll score).

For the unversed, Sarfaraz was on the verge of an unfortunate runout after Jaiswal refused to take a double. This made Sarfaraz angry and he could be seen shouting at the 22-year-old.

Sarfaraz scored his second half-century (72-ball 68), while Jaiswal scored 216 runs from 236 balls.

After his impressive double century, Yashasvi Jaiswal explained the secret behind his hunger for scoring runs for Team India. He told Anil Kumble and Nick Knight that living in India has made him a hard-working person and that playing for India is his biggest motivation.

In India, when grow up, you work really hard for each and everything. Even when getting the bus you have to work really hard to get the bus. You have to work really hard to get to the train and auto rickshaw and everything and I have done that since my childhood.
Jaiswal said after his double-century

That 216* runs was his second double century in just six matches after his debut in 2023 against West Indies. Jaiswal also said that Test cricket is hard but he tries to bat session by session.

The fourth Test will start on February 23 in Ranchi. It will be interesting to see how Jaiswal plays in that match.
