Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh finished IPL 2023 on a high as the batter scored close to 500 runs in the 14 matches he played. Singh won quite a few games singlehandedly and his five consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal re still the talk of the town. Although KKR could not finish in the top four and bowed from the league stage, Singh earned himself the tag of ‘finisher’ with his valiant knocks.

Now, as IPL is over, Singh is spending his leisurely time in the Maldives. The Aligarh cricketer shared pictures on his Instagram wherein he can be seen enjoying the time off the field. Rinku shared a couple of pictures from the swimming pool and these were enough to flatten Shubman Gill’s sister Shahneel Gill.

As Singh shared some candid pictures, Shahneel left a comment on the post. “Oo heroo,” wrote Shahneel.

What lies ahead for Rinku Singh?

Riku Singh has risen to fame with his IPL exploits and it seems an India cap is around the corner for the UP cricketer. Having earned the reputation of a finisher, Singh can be roped in by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors for the West Indies tour. As India are all set to tour West Indies for a full-fledged series after the World Test Championship Final, Singh might get his maiden national call-up for the T20I series. However, it will be interesting to see if Singh is able to break it into the playing XI or not.

India already have a few names who are designated finishers. T20I skipper Hardik Pandya himself has been doing this for Team India for a while and may continue to do so. But in case, Pandya thinks to replicate his role in Gujarat Titans, Singh might be slotted in at No.6 or 7.
