Suryakumar Yadav
Delhi Capitals’ (DC) Director of Cricket Sourav Ganguly heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav after his whirlwind knock against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday (May 9) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Suryakumar blasted a 35-ball 83 runs to drive Mumbai Indians past the 190-run target to win the match by seven wickets.
After the innings, Sourav Ganguly wasted no time and took to Twitter to call Suryakumar the best T20 player in the world right now. “Surya Kumar yadav the best T20 player in the world.. it seems he bats on a computer,” Ganguly tweeted.
With Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell‘s half-centuries, RCB posted 199/6 in their 20 overs. But the trio of Ishan Kishan (42 off 21), Suryakumar (83 off 35), and Nehal Wadhera (52* off 34) helped MI chase down the target in just 16.3 overs.
Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged the Player of the Match
Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged the Player of the Match after his assault against RCB. Mumbai now leapfrogged to third position on the points table with six wins from 11 matches and are in contention to qualify for the Playoffs. Suryakumar’s bat talked when MI needed it the most.
“Much needed from the team’s point of view. I am very happy to win a home game like this. I mean they come up with a plan. They tried to make me hit to the bigger part. Take the pace off and bowl slow. I said Nehal let’s hit it hard and hit it into the gaps and run hard. Your patience has to be the same what you intend to do in matches. I know where my runs are. We have open net sessions. I know my game. I don’t do anything different,” Suryakumar said at the post-match presentation.
