The southpaw revealed that the four-time IPL winning-captain wants to lift another trophy before calling time on his career.
Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni
Whether the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is MS Dhoni‘s last season or not will be decided by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain himself. But even before the start of this year’s league, MS Dhoni’s retirement from IPL has become the talk of the town and it seems, it won’t stop until Dhoni himself makes the announcement.
However, former CSK cricketer Suresh Raina, who shared the dressing room with Dhoni for many years, might have put an end to the discussion. The southpaw revealed that the four-time IPL winning-captain wants to lift another trophy before calling time on his career.
“Main trophy jeetke ek saal aur khelunga (After winning the trophy, I will play one more year),” Raina said on JioCinema about Dhoni’s exact words during their last meeting in IPL.

MS Dhoni gives a befitting reply to question on retirement
Dhoni has been asked several times about his IPL future, the recent being a question from Danny Morrison during CSK’s match against Lucknow Super Giants. “This is your swansong tour, your last, how are you enjoying it?” To this, the 41-year-old’s answer was: “Well, you have decided it’s my last.”
Morrison left surprised for a bit before being pointed back to the Lucknow crowd saying, “You hear that, he is going to come back again next year.”
Dhoni has been in stunning form this season as he finishes off in style whenever the team requires it. But as he turned into a lower-order batter this season, he rarely gets the chance to bat. He scored 76 runs from six innings at a strike rate of 200. He will be next seen in action when CSK will clash against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday (May 10).
