Suresh Raina has made his debut in 2005 for India. He played a total of 18 Test matches, 226 ODIs, and 78 T20Is over the course of 13 years. He was an integral member of India’s World Cup 2011 team.

He played his last international game in 2018. In 2020, he announced his retirement from international cricket and just minutes after, MS Dhoni did the same.

After his retirement, he has continued to play the domestic matches and Indian Premier League (IPL). In IPL, he represented the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings and he was also part of the team in 2021 where CSK lifted their fourth trophy.

He had been the part of the Men in Yellow since the inception of the cash-rich league in 2008. CSK’s ban for two years saw Raina leading the Gujarat Lions team. But he returned to the same franchise after the gap although CSK didn’t retain him in 2022 and he went unsold at the IPL mega auction to the shock of many.
