Bangladesh and Netherlands clashed against each other in the ongoing World Cup in Australia. The game was played at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart where both teams played their first match of the Super 12 stage. The Asian side emerged victorious by nine runs in a rain interrupted fixture.

Bangladesh went to a solid start where the openers showed some intent of carrying the game forward but in the fifth over of power play, Bangladeshis lost their first wicket as Soumya Sarkar was dismissed 14. A good quick knock by Afif Hussain where he scored 38 of 27 and Mosaddek Hussain who made 20 of 12 ended the innings on a respectable 144/8. Holland came to bat losing 2 wickets on 2 bowls where Taskin Ahmad showed some rhythm in his bowling. The only performer for the team batting second was Colin Ackermann who smashed 62 off 48 balls to help rescue the team but the innings went in vain. The man of the match went to Taskin Ahmad for his brilliant bowling figures of 4 overs 25 runs and 4 wickets with an economy of 6.3.
