Tabraiz Shamsi and Yuzvendra Chahal

India leggie Yuzvendra Chahal is famous for his pranks, witty replies and his fun banter with his fellow cricketers. But this time, Proteas spinner Tabraiz Shamsi poked fun at Chahal, calling him a better batter than Virat Kohli.

After Kohli’s heroic batting in India’s T20 World Cup’s opening match against Pakistan, a Twitter user asked who is a better batter than Kohli right now. Shamsi replied by tagging Chahal.

Check the hilarious banter between the two spinners:

The joke around Chahal’s batting started when the leg-spinner claimed that he’ll break Kohli’s records if he gets to open alongside Jos Buttler for Rajasthan Royals. That being said, the 32-year-old went on to scalp the most number of wickets in the Indian Premier League this season.

Will Yuzvendra Chahal play against the Netherlands?

Rohit Sharma and management chose Ravichandran Ashwin over Yuzvendra Chahal in their clash against Pakistan on Sunday [October 23]. Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey dropped a major hint at who is the first-choice spinner for India in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022.

When it comes to Ashwin, it’s the other way round, he tells us. It’s just the way he is,” Mhambrey said on Wednesday on the eve of their second match against the Netherlands.

But he then went to praise Ashwin, saying “He showed the presence of mind to leave that ball (while facing Mohammed Nawaz in the 20th over). Any individual at that stage would have thrown his bat but hey that’s Ashwin for you. Top player.” But Mhambrey didn’t say directly but dropped enough hints that Ashwin’s batting and bowling skills have an advantage over Chahal.

When and where we have an opportunity to include an additional spinner, we will go with him (Chahal),” he added. So, it’s likely that Chahal might play the match against the Netherlands since it might not be very tough for India to beat the Dutch.
