Afghanisatn nearly won the match against Pakistan in the Super 4 stage on Wednesday, September 7. After Pakistan’s one-wicket win, the scenes around the Sharjah stadium were of intense joy among the Pakistani fans and distress among the Afghan fans.
But some Afghan fans were seen hurling chairs on the Pakistanis fans and causing disruptance in the stadium, even were seen involving in fist fights outside the stadium.
Not only the fans, even the two cricketers from both the sides had came nearly to the point of a physical altercation had not the umpires and other players stopped the two. Asif Ali was the batter who was dismissed by Fareed Ahmed in the 19th over and some foul mouthing saw Ali almost punching Fareed, even raised hit bat to threaten him.
Although these two were separted but in the stands, things had already gone out of control. Adding more to the cause, Naseem Shah smashed two consecutive sixes off Fazalhaq Farooqi to take Pakistan to the final. And angry fans couldn’t stop themselves after that.
In several videos that are storming on the internet, a section of Afghan fans were seen uprooting the chairs and hurling them aimlessly or throwing them towards the Pakistani fans.

“Learn a few things if you want to grow in the sport”- Shoaib Akhtar
The ugly scene was condemned by many including former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar.
“This is what Afghan fans are doing. This is what they’ve done in the past multiple times. This is a game and it’s supposed to be played and taken in the right spirit. @ShafiqStanikzai, your crowd and your players both need to learn a few things if you guys want to grow in the sport,” wrote Akhtar on his Twitter handle.
