When Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Tushar Deshpande stunned Mumbai Indians (MI) skipper Rohit Sharma by bamboozling the stumps, after the match, there were posts on Twitter that claimed Deshpande had compared Rohit Sharma with AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli.

But the CSK bowler took to his Instagram story and denied having said such ‘demeaning’ statements about Rohit Sharma. “I have absolute respect for all the legends mentioned above. I did not, would not make any such demeaning statements. Stop spreading fake news,” Deshpande shared several screenshots of the media and Twitter handles that claimed he had said those things about the Indian captain.
In that match, Deshpande’s wicket restricted Rohit Sharma at 21 (off 13 balls). Ishan Kishan (32), Tim David (31), and Hrithik Shokeen (18) guided MI to 157/8. During CSK’s run chase, Ajinkya Rahane slammed 61 off 27 balls, Ruturaj Gaikwad also played an unbeaten 40-run knock to drive the Yellow jersey past the target to win the match by seven wickets. Deshpande had scalped two wickets and conceded 31 runs in three overs.
MS Dhoni and Co. will be seen in action on Wednesday (April 12) against Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The four-time champions faced a five-wicket defeat from Gujarat Titans in the opener, followed by a 12-run victory over Lucknow Super Giants.
