In the second Super 4 match between India and Pakistan, the former set a competitive target of 182 on Sunday, September 4 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, UAE.

Pakistan have won the toss and opted to bowl first. Openers KL Rahul and Rohit, from the start, started playing successful shots. Fans enjoyed some classic Rohit Sharma shots until Haris Rauf made him his victim.

This happened in the sixth over when Rauf came to bowl. He rolled his fingers over the ball and served it on a fuller length. Rohit went too hard but it only gained height and not distance. Fakhar Zaman moved to his right from mid on and looked to grab it but the ball went through his hands.

Rahul also contributed equally with Rohit for the powerplay score. He scored 28 runs off 20 balls with a four and a six but Shadab Khan dismissed him on the very first ball of seventh over. Now, India kept losing some quick wickets after the dismissal of these two batters.

Suryakumar Yadav could only score 13 runs off 10 balls with four. Mohammad Nawaz dismissed him when the batter smashed a slog sweep. A premeditated shot by Rishabh Pant made him lose his wickets from Shadab’s over. While Deepak Hooda scored a much needed 16 runs off 14 balls when India’s innings were headed towards the end.

It was Virat Kohli who kept India’s innings on hold. He played 44 balls to score 60 runs with four fours and a six but a run out in the penultimate over saw him depart. With his knock and two misfields by Fakhar Zaman in the last over, India’s score reached 181/7.
