The reverse fixture between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) is ongoing right now on Thursday (April 27) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. RR skipper Sanju Samson has won the toss and opted to bat first. However, RR won’t play their star pacer, Trent Boult, who wreaks havoc in the Powerplay in this match.

During the toss, RR skipper Sanju Samson revealed the reason why their star paceman Boult is not playing in today’s match. “We would like to bat first. We like to stick to our strength, which is to defend. It feels really great to play RR’s 200th game, feels great to be playing for 10 years. Would love to see some pink here today, but it’s yellow and we know that the reason is (smiles),” Samson said during the toss.

He then added that as Boult has been dealing with a niggle, he won’t play in this match. “Boult misses out due to a niggle, Zampa is playing in his place,” Samson added. Notably, the Kiwi paceman also missed out on playing against CSK in their first encounter which the Pink Army won by just three runs while defending a 176-run target.

Talking about the ongoing match, RR got off to a flier with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the batting line-up with a stunning half-century. He has been batting aggressively, whereas star English batter Jos Buttler was seen struggling from the very start, and eventually he became Ravindra Jadeja‘s victim.

RR have reached 100 in 11 overs (at the time of writing this piece) with Jaiswal batting on 61 (off 33 balls with six boundaries and four sixes). Sanju Samson has come out to bat after Buttler’s dismissal and has currently scored five runs from six balls.
