Yashasvi Jaiswal brought the cricketing world to his feet with a blistering knock on his Test debut. The left-handed youngster smoked 171 runs off 387 deliveries in the first Test against West Indies. The opener displayed a calm and calculated batting approach and articulated some frame-worthy shots.
Jaiswal was dismissed by Alazarri Joseph at 171 but only after stitching a 229-run partnership with skipper Rohit Sharma and a 110-run partnership with Virat Kohli. Jaiswal and Sharma also broke the record for the highest opening partnership between India and West Indies in Tests.
The youngster floored everyone with his dynamic batting ability and the capacity to adapt to the longer format of the game. Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma also registered 103 runs during a record-breaking opening stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal. Both the openers cemented a solid start for India and left the Windies wicketless on day 1.

The lefty now has the most runs scored by an Indian in away Test matches and is just second to Shikhar Dhawan in terms of overall highest score on Test debut. His record-breaking knock gathered massive appreciation for him from across the globe.
