Mumbai Indians (MI) bowler Arjun Tendulkar got bit by a stray dog ahead of their match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Tuesday (May 16) at the Ekana Sports City in Lucknow. Though how this incident happened is not known yet, Arjun disclosed the same in a video shared by LSG on their Twitter handle.

Arjun hasn’t featured in MI’s matches since April 25 when he played against Gujarat Titans (GT). He has played just four matches for the five-time champions, picking three wickets with a best of 1/9 against GT.

He has been benched since then. But as Tilak Varma is recovering from an injury, Arju would have got the chance to play against LSG but this bizarre incident delayed it. But this incident drew hilarious reactions on Twitter. Arjun could be heard saying this in the video: “A dog bit me, a day before“. He was displaying his bowling hand while saying this.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old made his debut for the MI against Kolkata Knight Riders. But it was his performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad that hogged the limelight. There he scalped his maiden IPL wicket, by dismissing Bhuveshwar Kumar and even defended 21 runs in the final over. Though he had fared decently in these matches, against Punjab Kings (PBKS), he conceded 48 runs, including 31 runs off an over.

MI’s win over LSG will secure them 16 points, and they will become the second team after GT to qualify for the playoffs. They are currently sitting third on the points table with seven wins from 12 matches.
