“DC’s first victory loading”- Twitter erupts as Delhi Capitals restrict KKR to a paltry total owing to their lackluster show

Andre Russell

In the match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Delhi Capitals (DC), the former put on a mere total of 127 in their 20 overs on Thursday (April 20) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Jason Roy and Andre Russell scored the most for the team, though they were sluggish innings. KKR wouldn’t have even reached the total if it wasn’t for Russell’s three back-to-back sixes in the final over.

When KKR were asked to bat first, they lost the wicket of Litton Das in the second over off Mukesh Kumar’s delivery. Anrich Nortje got rid of Venkatesh Iyer in the fourth over, followed by Ishant Sharma‘s dismissing skipper Nitish Rana an over later.

KKR kept losing wickets one by one. They were at 70/6 and reaching the 100-run mark looked distant. Jason Roy was still at the crease and with his slow knock, he tried to save KKR’s innings. He played 39 balls to score 43 runs with five fours and a six.

However, Kuldeep Yadav’s delivery made Roy go for a slog sweep but it didn’t connect well, and Aman Hakim made no mistake while grabbing a simple catch.

Though Jason Roy got dismissed, KKR were expecting Andre Russell to do something. At first, he played a sluggish knock but, in the final over, he smashed three back-to-back sixes and took KKR to 127 in their 20 overs.

Delhi’s bowling department produced impressive performance and now, it’s up to the batters to do the rest of the job. Winning this match will give them the two points they have been searching for after losing five matches on the trot.
