Mumbai Indians (MI) had a massive 208-run target in front of them but they simply faltered. And Gujarat Titans (GT), without breaking a sweat, won the match by a huge 55 runs on Tuesday (April 25) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
MI captain Rohit Sharma‘s poor show with the bat continued in this match also. One only sees a brilliant knock from him once in a blue moon. Today, he played eight balls only to score two runs.
Other opener Ishan Kishan also produced a flop show, for he played 21 balls to score 13 runs. However, Cameron Green came to the rescue as he batted responsibly for a while, scoring 33 runs from 26 balls when in the 11th over, bowler Noor Ahmed made him his first victim.
Today, even Tilak Varma couldn’t become MI’s savior. But Suryakumar Yadav showed intent and started going for boundary shots but his stay at the crease was short-lived courtesy of Noor’s caught and bowled. Suryakumar contributed 23 runs from 12 balls with three fours and a six.

Tim David was sent into packing for a duck by Noor Ahmed. But Nehal Wadhera produced a cameo though, he also fumbled. His 21-ball 40 runs had three fours and the same number of sixes and he batted at a strike rate of 190.48.
Later, 18 runs from Piyush Chawla and 13 runs from Arjun Tendulkar took the team to 152/9 and they lost the match by 55 runs. After this match, GT reached the second spot on the points table with five wins from seven matches, while Mumbai are seventh on the 10-team points table with three wins from seven matches.
