Arijit was the first to perform and he sang the likes of ‘Ae Watan’ from the film Raazi, ‘Lehda Do’ from the film 83, and Kesariya from Brahmastra. He finished his performance with a lap around the stadium.

After him, Tamannah rocked the stage with her dance on songs like ‘Tum Tum’ and ‘Oo Antava’ from the film Pushpa: The Rise, followed by Rashmika’s ‘Shami Shami’ and ‘Naatu Naatu’ dances.

Talking about the match, Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first. It was the same ground where Gujarat won the trophy last year in their maiden appearance by beating Rajasthan Royals (RR). This opening ceremony was quite emotional for all fans. After 10 months, they saw MS Dhoni donning the yellow jersey and walking on the ground.

CSK had a forgetful season last year but they have already left that behind and will be eyeing their fifth title this year, while Pandya and co. will want to defend their title.
