“Video game by Rutu!”-Twitter goes berserk after Ruturaj Gaikwad’s blitzkrieg powers CSK to massive total against LSG
He finished his innings after scoring 57 runs from 31 balls with three fours and four sixes at an incredible strike rate of 183.87.

Ruturaj Gaikwad
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway did what they are known for- giving a powerful start to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) innings. Courtesy of their exploits and small contributions from the middle-order batters, CSK posted a mammoth total of 217/7 in their 20 overs against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on Monday (April 3) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
After winning the toss, LSG skipper KL Rahul elected to field first. LSG’s first task was to somehow restrict CSK’s run flow in the powerplay or take a quick scalp but the opening pair of Gaikwad and Conway was again unstoppable for a long time. They stitched a 110-run between them before Ravi Bishnoi was able to give the first breakthrough by dismissing Gaikwad.
Gaikwad had already slammed his half-century- his second in the tournament. He finished his innings after scoring 57 runs from 31 balls with three fours and four sixes at an incredible strike rate of 183.87.
In the 10th over, Bishnoi delivered it outside off stump and it took an outside edge then Mark Wood at short third-man grabbed a stunning catch over his head to the relief of the Lucknow side.

In the next over, Devon Conway also lost his wicket to Wood when the former tried to pull it but Krunal Pandya grabbed the catch. Conway batted at a strike rate of 162.07 to score 47 runs from 29 balls, including five fours and two sixes.
Later, Shivam Dube added 27 from 16 balls, Moeen Ali quickly scored 19 from 13 balls, Ben Stokes again failed with the bat, and then came the person the Chepauk fans were waiting for- MS Dhoni.
After four years, the yellow-army fans saw their ‘Thala’ enter the ground and the two balls he faced, he sent it over the boundary rope. But Mark Wood had the last laugh when he dismissed Dhoni on the fourth ball with Ravi Bishnoi grabbing the catch. But Dhoni did his job as a finisher to take CSK to 217/7 in 20 overs. Amongst the LSG bowlers, Bishnoi and Wood bagged three wickets each, while Avesh Khan got one.
