Faf du Plessis
Faf du Plessis has slammed back-to-back half-centuries for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). He has been in sensational form this season, having reached the 50-run mark four times in the six matches RCB have played so far in this 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His fourth one came against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Thursday (April 20) at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.
In RCB’s sixth match against Punjab, du Plessis batted at a strike rate of 150, scoring 84 runs from 56 balls with five boundaries and an equal number of sixes. He and Virat Kohli opened the innings for the team and when Kohli got out in the 17th over off Harpreet Brar’s delivery, du Plessis lost his wicket to Nathan Ellis in the next over.
Ellis delivered it on the length but du Plessis mistimed his shot and the balls flew toward Sam Curran at long-off, who did no mistake while taking the catch. And despite du Plessis’ excellent knock and Kohli’s half-century, RCB could reach 174 in their 20 overs.

After Kohli’s dismissal on the first ball of the 17th over, Harpreet Brar dismissed Glenn Maxwell for a golden duck on the next delivery. Dinesh Karthik became Arshdeep Singh‘s victim.
After the openers’ dismissals, RCB couldn’t able to finish the innings in style and ended up putting on 174/4, a competitive total, however, in their 20 overs. In that innings, Kohli played a slow knock, scoring 59 runs from 47 balls with five fours and a six. Among the PBKS bowlers, Harpreet Brar scalped two, and Arshdeep Singh and Nathan Ellis got one each.
