“Windies didn’t lose Hope!”- Twitter reacts as Shai Hope stars with a ton to set a huge 312 against India

India is locking horns with West Indies in the second ODI on Sunday, July 24 at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain in Trinidad. Windies, with the help of Shai Hope’s century knock, set a huge score of 312. So far, India has got the upper hand by leading 1-0 in the three-match ODI series.
West Indies won the toss and chose to bat first. They started their innings well but soon one of the openers Kyle Mayers got out on 39 runs. The other opener was Shai Hope. When Shamrah Brooks joined him, he also contributed some runs (35 off 36 balls) but a short ball by Axar Patel gave the breakthrough by dismissing him.
Windies skipper Nicholas Pooran then walked out to bat after Brandon Kings’ dismissal on duck. Both Pooran and Hope stitched a 117-run partership between them to steer their innings.
Pooran was playing sixes and acted as an anchor. He brought up his tenth half-century in ODIs after the knock of 74 runs off 77 balls. He smashed a boundary and six sixes. Shardul Thakur gave India some relief when he dismissed Pooran. Thakur bowled a full on the leg stump and Pooran shuffled across and looked to whip it but missed it. The ball hit the leg pole and ended his innings.
Hope then scored his century and played a knock of 115 runs off 135 balls with eight fours and three sixes. Thakur was again the bowler to dismiss this dangerous man. A full ball made Hope lift the ball high towards the deep extra cover and Axar Patel there caught it. It was also Hope’s 21st century overall and 13th one in his 100th ODI.
