“Catch ka badla catch se!”- Twitter reacts as Virat Kohli plucks one-handed stunner to dismiss Shakib Al Hasan
Virat Kohli plucks one-handed stunner to dismiss Shakib Al Hasan
When Virat Kohli was batting, fans expected an exemplary performance from him, but Shakib Al Hasan did not let it happen when he dismissed the talismanic batter (nine off 15 balls) on Sunday (December 4) in Dhaka. Litton Das was the fielder who dived and grabbed it with one hand. But Kohli avenged his dismissal when he send Shakib packing with a similar astounding catch.
The incident happened on the 24th over of the Bangladesh’s innings. Washington Sundar delivered a floated ball which Shakib tried to whack through the off-side. But he skyed the ball, and Kohli dived to his right and caught it with one hand. It was similar to the way Litton dismissed him during India’s innings.

Talking about the match, only KL Rahul played a half-century knock with 73 runs from 70 balls (with five fours and four sixes). Other batters failed to produce much on a sluggish Dhaka pitch that proved a boon to Shakib as he finished his bowling spell with five scalps (Rohit Sharma, Kohli, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar). Ebadot Hossain also completed his four-wicket haul.
India put on just 186 before all the batters were sent packing in just 41.1 overs. The target looked easier for Bangladesh, but they are losing wickets at regular intervals. Chahar dismissed opener Najmul Hossain Shanto for a golden duck on the very first ball of the innings.
Mohammed Siraj dismissed Anamul Haque (14 off 29) in the 10th over, while Litton (41 off 63) became Sundar’s victim in the 20th over. Following Shakib’s dismissal, Bangladesh’s score read 110/4 in 30th over. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah are at the crease playing on 11* and 8* respectively.
