Team India skipper Rohit Sharma said that Bangladesh ODI and Test series will not be a cakewalk for the Men in Blue. On the eve of the 1st ODI, which will be played on Sunday, December 4 in Dhaka, Rohit said his team will be anticipating a lot of competition from their neighbors, led by Litton Das.

It is going to be an exciting series as always has been whenever we have come to Bangladesh. They have been a very challenging team and we have to play well to beat them,” said Rohit during the pre-match press conference on December 3. He also acknowledged that the Bangladeshi team has been a difficult one over the last seven to eight years.

He mentioned the T20 World Cup 2022 where Bangladesh had given tough competition to India, and had not the rain interrupted the match, Bangladesh would have won it. “In the T20 World Cup, it was a close game and in 2015, we lost the series here. By no means, we are thinking that it’s going to be a cakewalk for us because we know they are a much-improved side in the last few years,” Rohit added.

In the pre-match press conference, Rohit Sharma emphasized the need for workload management of the players. As many cricketers are playing all-format cricket, Rohit admitted that cricket will be played like this only but it’s the people around the game who need to do the right things.

“And people need to understand that when we give players a break, it is only to manage the workload keeping the bigger picture in mind,” he said. He asserted the importance of the freshness that the break brings to the players. While on the hectic schedule, Rohit rather gave a blunt reply saying, “It is impossible in this day and age that you will always play with your best 15. It’s not going to happen.”
