Notably, Chand is no longer associated with BCCI as he retired and left the country due to a lack of opportunity. He went on to sign for USA Cricket and will be a part of their newly launched T20 League, Major League Cricket. He also represented the Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League (BBL).

The right-handed batter led Indian U-19 team to a famous World Cup win in 2012. He scored a match-winning hundred in the finals as the skipper of the side. Although he was selected for Dare Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Mumbai Indians, he could never cement his position.

BPL 2023 to welcome DRS

BPL Governing Council Chairman confirmed on Sunday that the upcoming edition of the league will have DRS technology available. This will surely enhance the quality and popularity of BPL. “We are going to hold the players’ draft of BPL on November 23. If everything goes fine, DRS will be available in this edition, too,” he told New Age.

The governing body handed a three-year contract to all seven franchises. BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon also confirmed that most franchises will return. However, he stated that some rules and regulations may change, but they will all be decided within the next seven days.

“Most of the franchises will return, if not all. There is no reason not to. Gemcon, Beximco, Bashundhara – they have no reasons to say no. Since the schedule has been finalised, we will decide on the other things within a week. Some rules and regulations may change; we will clear everything beforehand,” Hassan said.
