On the evening of 9th September, Indian journalist Mohammed Zubair called out former cricketer Venkatesh Prasad for deleting some tweets that called out a “Corrupt arrogant guy.’ Fans thought the tweet was about Jay Shah, as he had already called out the BCCI for their terrible planning of the 2023 ODI World Cup.

After seeing a tweet by Mohammed Zubair about his tweet, Venkatesh replied to him and called him a “serial hate-monger.” Venkatesh claimed that the journalist has put plenty of people in danger thanks to his agenda and said him posing as a fact checker is like a terrorist talking about peace. Venkatesh Prasad then added to his tweet that Zubair should go post how he needs money to survive and ask for donations for his website.

On 8th and 9th September, Venkatesh Prasad has been posting on X consistently, calling out the BCCI in one. In another tweet he called out corruption, for which many fans thought he was talking about Jay Shah. Venkatesh deleted that tweet and uploaded a modified version, where he said he was talking about corruption in general.

For over 2 days, Venkatesh Prasad has been regularly posting on X. On 9th, he tweeted about how unfair it was that the fixture between India and Pakistan had gotten a reserve day while Bangladesh and Sri Lanka didn’t. After that he spoke about how disappointed he was with the BCCI for their below par preparation of the ODI World Cup. He later talked about how India is a genuine contender, but needs actual fans inside the stadium.

He then posted his viral tweet calling out corruption but deleted it within a few hours. After Mohammed Zubair posted about him, Venkatesh Prasad attacked him. Later when asked who his tweet about corruption was about, he said he was calling out corruption in general. He said people must have assumed he was talking about Jay Shah as he was talking about the tickets earlier.

He then uploaded his viral tweet, but added an extra line where he wrote “This is true in every field, be it politics, sports, journalism, corporate.”

When a businessman Tehseen Poonawalla asked Venkatesh Prasad to not be negative to Zubair, Prasad said it was needed after he put plenty of lives in danger due to his agenda. Later when a fan said Venkatesh’s only achievement in his cricket career was bowling Amir Sohail, he defended himself listing down all of his achievements.
