Team India got humbled by West Indies who couldn’t even qualify for the T20 World Cup, feels former India bowler Venkatesh Prasad. Prasad did not mince his words while blaming Team India for playing “ordinary” cricket and looking clueless in the white-ball matches.
Hardik Pandya and Co., with the help of Suryakumar Yadav‘s 61 off 45 and Tilak Varma‘s 27 off 18 powered India to a decent 165/9 in 20 overs. West Indies’ Brendon King’s unbeaten 85 runs off 55 balls and Nicholas Pooran’s 45 off 35 runs were enough to snatch the victory from the visitors to win the match by eight wickets after chasing the target (172/2) with 12 balls remaining.
India lost the first and second matches of the five-match series. But they pulled off the victory in the third and fourth matches before losing the fifth one and losing the series 3-2. After India’s debacle, the watchers of the game, including Venkatesh Prasad wasted no time to criticise the team.
“India has been very very ordinary limited overs side for sometime now. They have been humbled by a West Indies side that failed to qualify for the T20 WC a few months back. We had also lost to Ban in the ODI series. Hope they introspect instead of making silly statements,” Ventakesh Prasad wrote on Twitter.

Venkatesh Prasad feels random things happening with Team India
Former India captain MS Dhoni used to work according to the process of the game. But Ventakesh Prasad feels the present Team India misuses this word pointing out that there is no consistency with the team.
He held the team responsible for the debacle and told them to be accountable. “MS meant it, guys now just use the word,” wrote Prasad before adding that he can see no consistency in selection; and observed that random stuff are happening now.
