“Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma told me…” Yashasvi Jaiswal talks about his first-hand experience of the Indian dressing room

India’s upcoming batting sensation Yashasvi Jaiswal recently got his maiden Test call-up for India’s tour of the West Indies. Jaiswal was also picked as a standby player in India’s WTC Final squad. In an interview with ‘The Lallantop’ he spoke about his first experience in the Indian dressing room.
The extravagant opener recognized the legacy of the Indian dressing room and said that he had always dreamt of being there and playing for his country. He said being in the dressing room gave him confidence and taught him a lot. Jaiswal also shared the advice he got from Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Rahul Dravid.
After talking to senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Head Coach Rahul Dravid, Yashasvi Jaiswal said that he realized that he has to be responsible for his own actions, his way of cricket and how he’s going to take it forward.
He understood the importance of working on his game and developing it to the next level. The importance of individual application of learning was also highlighted after these conversations. Jaiswal said that all his senior players asked him to believe in himself and trust his own game.
Yashasvi Jaiswal picks his dream opening partner
During a rapid-fire segment in the interview, Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that his dream opening partner is the legendary little master, Sachin Tendulkar. Yashasvi has often declared how Sachin was the inspiration behind him taking up cricket.
Jaiswal also shared that Sachin Tendulkar gave invaluable advice in 2020 when he told him, “Every bowler will give you a clue about what he’s going to bowl next. You’ve to concentrate and catch that clue.”
