Virat Kohli fan Shreyanka Patil and RCB’s Kanika Ajuha star as India Women thump Bangladesh to win Emerging Team Asia Cup
The 20-year-old who is an avid follower of Virat Kohli emerged as the highest wicket-taker with nine wickets in two matches.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women (RCBW) cricketer Shreyanka Patil and her teammate Kanika Ahuja starred in India’s victory in the summit clash of the Emerging Team Asia Cup against Bangladesh. While Shreyanka claimed four wickets in her four-over spell and gave away only 13 runs, Ahuja put on an all-round show and helped India register a 31-run win.
The 20-year-old ‘RCB Blood’ scored a handy 30* (23) and claimed two wickets at the expense of 23 runs. Meanwhile, Patil put on a terrific bowling performance not only in the final but throughout the tournament. The 20-year-old who is an avid follower of Virat Kohli emerged as the highest wicket-taker with nine wickets in two matches. Mannat Kashyap (3/20) also chipped in with the ball.
Meanwhile, Uma Chetry (22 off 20) and Vrinda Dinesh (36 off 29) provided a good start on a tricky pitch and helped India reach a decent total (127/7).

Shreyanka Patil feels aggression comes naturally to her like Virat Kohli
The India all-rounder who is touted as the next big thing in Indian cricket celebrated the win aggressively and when asked about those celebrations, Patil said it comes naturally to her. The 20-year-old said that as she has grown up watching Virat Kohli, the aggressive nature has been her best friend.
“Aggression comes naturally to me because I’ve been a big Virat Kohli fan since childhood. I love to play under pressure,” said Patil after the win.
It’s worth mentioning that Patil has received praise from the likes of Ellyse Perry. The Australia all-rounder who played for RCB in the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) heaped praise on her junior for her attitude and skills. Perry said that she has not seen someone so skillful at such young age.
“She is a real special star for the future. I have not seen someone like that of her age around the world for a long time, with that kind of skill and just attitude. So, that’s really cool,” Perry had said during WPL 2023.
